The Soundtrack of the 2010s

“Music is the heartbeat of culture, a reflection of the world at any moment, a way to navigate the knottier parts of being, a means for catharsis.”

– Puja Patel –

So, the decade is coming to a close and what better way to get a real sense of what it was really like than look back at the songs that coloured the last 3, 650 days (give or take) of our lives.

With the growth of streaming and access to powerful but inexpensive phones, we definitely listened to way more music than ever before. New genres were created and discovered (hello genge-tone), music-thinkpiece culture was solidified, we had way more access to artists than we have ever had thanks to twitter…it’s definitely been an interesting 10 years. Musically, many consider it a mixed bag so I want to take the temperature and see how we are leaning.

I wanna know what songs, albums and artists stood out to you in the last 10 years (2010-2019). Just fill this three-question form for me and in a few weeks, I will compile the top 100 songs and the top 10 albums of the 2010s as chosen by you.

What do you say?

Pretty please?

Thank you.
